The Architect’s vision for the OB/GYN facility was to capture the essence of conception leading to childbirth. The celebration of life is exemplified in the lobby designed to resemble a uterus sheltering an egg. The egg is then represented as a fountain with the nucleus in the form of a granite sphere that floats circularly in the fountain. Above the fountain is a sky light that signifies the involvement of a Supreme Being in the creation of life. The light fixtures with suspended light bulbs above the fountain demonstrate inception before conception. Throughout the interior lay-out, a mixture of organic, and geometric shapes interact to demonstrate nature and technology’s co-existence throughout the process of conception to child birth.
Coastal Cosmetic Center
This 6,100 sq. ft. ambulatory surgery facility is one of the safest freestanding outpatient surgery centers in the state. To maximize sterility, operating rooms have been designed to occupy a separate wing of the building, apart from the consultation and exam rooms.
